Fuengirola Zoo

During July and August the zoo is open at night giving a chance to see nocturnal animals by moonlight. Set amidst tropical forests of Madagascar, Equatorial Africa and south-east Asia, this zoo is designed to replicate the natural habitat of each of the animal species living here. Large areas have been created in which water and vegetation are plentiful - rivers, gigantic trees, waterfalls, bamboo-shrouded temples, hanging bridges and abandoned mines.

Mijas Aqua Park

This is  in Fuengirola, about a 10 minute drive from Calahonda. It has  numerous slides and flumes,  wave pool, an adventure river, a leisure pool, and a good kiddies mini water park,  great for kids and adults of all ages. Enjoy your leisure in Costa del Sol with our aquatic attractions for the whole family. Open May through October. Donkey Sanctuary

El Refugio Del Burrito is a registered Spanish Association primarily concerned with the welfare of donkeys and mules.  For many years we have been involved with rescue cases in Spain and have now established our own refuge North of Malaga; we are a subsidiary of The Donkey Sanctuary in Southern England. Based in Fuente De Piedra, close to the famous Flamingo Lake, we provide a safe haven with wonderful facilities for some of the many donkeys and mules that have faced such a hard life.

Horse Racing - La Cala de Mijas

There is a new horse racing track "The Hipodromo" at La Cala de Mijas, approximately 15 minutes from Calahonda, there is evening horse racing most Saturday nights during July & August and on Sunday afternoons in the winter months, there are numerous restaurants and bars actually in the complex, riding lessons are available for all abilities.

Tivoli World

A small theme park based in Benalmadena, about 15 minutes from Calahonda. It is a traditional park, set in lovely gardens with lots of family shows such as Flamenco Dancing, Wild West Shows etc. There are numerous small childrens rides, plus water log flumes, roller coasters and lots of fairground type rides, lots of places to eat, It is open all year round, at weekends only in low season, and in high season opens daily in the  evenings.

Crocodile Park

Situated in lively Torremolinos in the heart of the Costa del Sol. The Crocodile Park houses prehistoric creatures which have miraculously survived 200 million years of evolution. These carnivores knew the dinosaurs and use the same cold, merciless hunting techniques. From a distance of less than 2 metres, you can wonder at the gigantic crocodiles by silently walking beside them, observing the secrets of one of the  most fascinating creatures of our world.
